SAME

(Back to Questions)
Q: Each religion calls their God something different and have differing views on worship.  But is it possible that Buddha is Mohammad is Brahman is Jesus Christ?  Could they all be one and the same?

A: It is hard to conclude that they are all one in the same because of the major differences in what they taught.

For example, in Islam, Mohammad teaches that God is unknowable and that we must initiate in order for Allah to respond.  But Jesus taught that we can approach God through him.  Buddhism denies the existence of a creator God.  This contradicts both Islam and Christianity.

While there are some moral and scriptural similarities among world religions, the differences are in fact too deep to assume that their leaders are one and the same.
