CHILDREN

(Back to Questions)
Q: What does the Bible say about children dying before thy had a chance to make a choice to become a Christian?

A: There is neither book, chapter, or verse that answers this question directly.  However, God is not silent on a subject this sensitive.

First, we know that God does not want anyone to perish (II Peter 3:9).

Second, we know God is gracious, righteous, and full of compassion
(Psalm 116:5).

Third, we know God is just (Romans 9:14-16).

Whether it be sin or the sin nature, we are not held responsible until the Holy Spirit reveals it for what it is.  In the case of an infant or young child, God's prevenient grace (divine grace operating prior to a person turning to God) makes it possible for the child to spend eternity with Christ.
